Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect

Our office is committed to vigorously represent victims, both the elderly and others, who have suffered nursing home abuse and neglect. While many nursing homes provide good, compassionate care, unfortunately there are those facilities who are more concerned with profits than with the welfare of their residents.

Although many nursing home residents are frail and some injuries occur despite good care, there are cases of negligence, abuse, or deliberate indifference. It is doubly unfortunate that when these occur the victims are frequently helpless and ill-equipped to speak out. In these situations, we have the experience and legal knowledge to represent and advocate aggressively for the interests of those who suffer this abuse.

Common causes of action in these cases may include falls and related injuries, pressure ulcers, malnutrition or dehydration, errors of medication, burns or scalds, inappropriate use of chemical or physical restraints, and even, despicably, sexual abuse. In our pursuit of justice in these cases we are gratified that we not only help the resident and his or her family, but will also help improve the quality of care for a very vulnerable population.
